About Total Home and Business
The Best Indoor and Outdoor Painting Contractor in Fort Lauderdale & The Florida Keys Since 1989.

Our History = Honesty and Integrity from the Start
I started working as a teenager and soon began doing interior and exterior painting. My grandfather, Lloyd Smith, was my role model and gave me great business advice. He taught me that my word was everything. When I made a promise to someone, then I better make sure it was. Many of our customers have been with us for years for just that reason. I was taught that pride and honesty in anything you do are more important than money and fame.
We’ve been Providing Great Customer Service & Painting Since 1989
In our 25+ years of service, we've provided customer care and attention to detail. If we need to spend a little more time on a project to make sure the customer is happy, we always do so. Sometimes this means we’re making less profit on the job than our competitors would. It also means we have a satisfied customer who will refer us to friends and family. I can still hear my grandfather's laugh saying "it will all work out" when I got flustered with something I was working on. He was a great man and I do my best to keep him proud. He taught me patience and honesty was all I needed to succeed at this business and here we are 20+ years later.
"It will all work out." - Grandpa Lloyd
I do my best to make my grandfather’s memory proud. He taught me patience and honesty were all I needed to succeed in this business.

We Have Record Breaking Painting Experience
I have done it all, from building houses to painting schools. During one summer break I broke records when I painted 88 schools in three months. I had 53 painters working round-the-clock shifts, seven days a week. No one has ever accomplished that before and likely never will. Since they did not want to hire a sub quality painter, they asked me if I could do it all over summer break. I told them that I would try my best, and I succeeded.

Total Home and Business Teams with ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Delivers an Unexpected Gift to a Deserving Local.
In the special "After the Storm" we helped to rebuild Essie Reed's home so that she could continue helping the children of Fort Lauderdale.
During the episode the Total Home and Business team joined forces with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to help rebuild the home of a local community hero. Essie Reed, known lovingly as "Big Mama" fed thousands in her low-income community during hurricane Wilma. She has become the de facto mother to homeless and at-risk youth and she runs a non-profit called Team of Life.
We cherished the opportunity to help such a charitable woman. Our team enjoyed joining forces with the Extreme Makeover team and using our talents for something great.Derreck Campbell, Owner - Total Home and Business
In the show, local contractors come together to give back to their communities while using their skill sets. We painted the interior and exterior of "Big Mama's" home and assisted with minor repairs in the process. Our services include Pressure cleaning, stucco repair, caulking, and various finishes. We worked with the Extreme Makeover designers the same way that we work with homeowners and businesses. Our custom color mixing and quality finishes contributed to the beautiful renovations on "Big Mama's" home.
